Rainwater Catchment for Redwood/Sexton/Jonive Creek Riparian Water Users
The Department of Fish and Wildlife has provided limited funding specific to residents in the Redwood/Sexton/Jonive Creek area whose water use has impacts on streamflow, including those using riparian pumps or near-channel shallow wells.
The program offers free technical and design assistance for roof rainwater catchment systems of 5,000-30,000 gallons. Limited funding also exists to assist participants with the cost of installation, providing a rebate of $0.50/gallon up to $5,000 towards the cost of materials. Program participants will be required to sign an agreement with DFW and GRRCD, stating that they recognize the water stored by the system is meant to offset summer water uses that may impact streamflow.
