Salmon Creek Rural Water Conservation Program

The Department of Fish and Wildlife has provided limited funding specific to residents in the Salmon Creek watershed whose water use has impacts on streamflow in the Salmon Creek mainstem and its tributaries, including those using riparian pumps, near-channel shallow wells, or members of the Bodega Water Company system.

The program will offer free design assistance and a rebate of $0.50/gallon up to $5,000 towards the cost of materials for rainwater catchment installation, and also provide up to two 5,000-gallon HDPE tanks to design recipients who are moving forward with system construction (valued at nearly $10,000). Program participants will be required to sign an agreement with DFW and GRRCD, stating that they recognize the water stored by the system is meant to offset summer water uses that may impact streamflow.
